Men's Incisional Ptosis Correction Review
Hi, I'm leaving a review about my ptosis correction 11 days post-op. I hope it's helpful for those who are planning or considering the surgery!
Before surgery: On my mom's recommendation, I got incisional ptosis correction at Gangnam Seoyeon Plastic Surgery, where my younger sister had surgery. Before the surgery, I talked with a friend who had ptosis correction and a canthoplasty, and I used that as a starting point. On the day of my surgery, I told them I wanted ptosis correction and maybe an epicanthoplasty or lateral canthoplasty without a specific plan. Then, the director explained how he would perform the surgery to suit my face and said I didn't really need an epicanthoplasty or lateral canthoplasty. Originally, I strongly thought that I should get as much done as possible to improve, but I remembered my sister's advice (she had surgery at Gangnam Seoyeon Plastic Surgery before me) to just listen to the director and not talk too much. Also, I can always get additional surgery later, so I proceeded as the director suggested. I think listening to the director who performed the surgery is why it turned out so natural. The director, the consultant, the people in the operating room, the people who do the disinfection, etc., everyone at this hospital is so kind. Thank you again, and I want to say thank you for your hard work.
Surgery: Honestly, I'm a total scaredy-cat who hates pain. So, I was super nervous before the surgery, but the people in the operating room, of course, told me it wouldn't hurt. But I was still really scared... T_T I think there will definitely be people reading this who are worried about the pain during surgery. But in conclusion, it didn't hurt at all. Except for the little prick when they put the IV in my arm, I didn't feel any pain. I heard they also anesthetized around my eyes, and surgical tools definitely touched my eyes, but I really didn't feel any pain, so you don't have to worry.
After surgery: Of course, it hurts when the anesthesia wears off after surgery ^^. I guess that's unavoidable. For the first hour after surgery, it was okay, but suddenly the pain came like a tidal wave. I was trying to take my medicine, but I hadn't eaten anything, so I was starving and sweating a lot while eating ㅠㅠ because my eyes hurt ㅠㅠㅠ. But the pain gradually subsided at night, and I didn't really feel any pain right before going to bed. And my sister was in pain for two days, but I didn't really feel any pain from the next day. I was just uncomfortable because I couldn't wash like I did before the surgery, so I felt gross. And I followed the hospital's instructions and took the medicine and applied the ointment on the right days.
And here are the photos after the surgery. I originally took these photos roughly just for myself to see how I changed, so the quality isn't very good ㅠㅠ
This is a photo taken on the day of surgery.
This is a photo from 6 days after surgery. The yellow around my eyes isn't because I didn't wash, but because of the ointment...ㅠ
This is 8 days after surgery.
Currently: I think evaluations of oneself are more reliable when done by others, not oneself. That's the case for me too, and my family and friends who know I had surgery say it turned out well. They also say my impression has softened, I look better, and it doesn't look like I had surgery..>< Of course, even if the surgery went wrong, no one would say that to my face...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ But I'm also satisfied because I think I look better than before when I look in the mirror. I think the photos look especially weird, but I look better in person. It's not just about the eyes themselves, but they're harmoniously balanced with my face. I need to wait for the swelling to go down more to see the results more clearly, so I'm going to keep waiting for the swelling to go down.
Other people search and visit many plastic surgery clinics before deciding, but I just went to this hospital because of my sister's results. My younger sister's eyes were so natural even before the surgery, so I didn't worry at all about it being too artificial. I didn't search, so I don't know much about other plastic surgery clinics, but if a natural eye surgery result is a priority, I think I made a really good choice and I'm lucky. I hope this post is helpful for those who are planning or considering surgery, and I hope you have prettier eyes by referring to this post and many other reviews. Then, I'll end this post~
